The progress being made on the legalization front is reminiscent of the Age of Enlightenment – a movement in Europe during the 17^th and 18^th centuries, where ideas centred on the sovereignty of reason – consciously making sense of things, applying logic, and adapting or justifying practices, institutions and beliefs.

Cities where cannabis has been fully legalized should be formally recognized, which is exactly why we started This Hip City – for a chance to represent our cities and our love for cannabis.

Sure it’s wicked that weed is legal and the varieties in product and form are ever-expanding, but it’s more than that. It’s about what it represents moving forward.

We here at This Hip City love knowing that our hip cities – Vancouver and Montreal - are places where there is a willingness to observe, learn, evaluate and evolve.
